Thank you for visiting Dariotec. I am an Instrumentation and Control Engineer with 25 years of industrial IT experience. This website has been created to showcase my skill of improving the engineering design process by employing customized computer scripts.
While working at engineering corporations, I have noticed that many project development procedures have not changed since the 1980’s. Today, faster computers and sophisticated software are widely available for industrial application; however, some designers and engineers completely miss the real potential of modern technology by primarily utilizing computers for drawing lines or typing text. I recognized this general oversight of technology, and after observing how much time the manual handling of document cross-references takes, I wrote my first VB script for Autocad to address the issue. Before the script, most of the time was spent addressing customer comments on detected cross-reference mistakes. The new script saved design time and markedly improved document quality by eliminating human mistakes. My success with this script opened the new chapter in my engineering career, and since then I have developed a variety of functional programs.
I have developed numerous Visual Basic scripts since then. Some I have only used once, while others are still being used to this day, saving hundreds of man-hours and eliminating human errors. Overall, I had a lot of fun developing them all. There have times when I was frustrated after spending days trying to solve a problem, but I’ve always been rewarded with great satisfaction once a solution was found.
